THE PATH OF PEACE

The Lord is wanting to remind His people to choose the path of peace and to walk in peace. The Lord gave me a vision of people on a path and they came to an intersection of roads. There were so many sign posts signaling the direction they should take. I noticed the signposts were illuminated and seemed so appealing. The various signs were drawing the attention of the people. The people seemed to be unsure as to which direction they should take. I then saw the people stop, stand in stillness and pray. They weren’t trying to work out the path to take in their own strength, but they instead turned to God. They were careful not be distracted by the ‘attractive’ signs but instead to seek the path the Lord would have them take. As they stilled themselves in prayer before the Lord footsteps appeared before them and in each footstep was the word ‘peace’. They then stepped out and followed the path of peace. They were stilling themselves before God and being led by peace. I then saw that as the people took the path of peace they were given confirmations that showed them they were going the right way. Sometimes they saw confirming signs on the path along the way and other times they were given confirmation in the form of words from other people.

The Lord also gave me a vision of a second group of people. This group seemed so anxious to the point they were in a spiral of doubt and fear that was paralyzing them and they seemed lifeless and frozen on their path. This group had lost their peace and they were finding it very difficult to navigate the path of life. I saw Jesus come to them and place defibrillators on their chest. A shock of electricity pulsed through their bodies as the defibrillator paddles struck them. Jesus was resetting or recalibrating their mindsets. In an instant He removed their anxiety, fear and doubt and they stood with their eyes fixed on Him, filled with His peace. They now knew their peace is found in Him, and not in their external circumstances. They too then followed the path of peace.

Jesus is our source of peace. Jesus says in John 14:27 TPT – “I leave the gift of peace with you, my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts – instead, be courageous!” Peace is not related to the circumstances around us. We can walk through trials and still be walking in peace. When thinking about it with our natural minds it doesn’t seem reasonable that we can walk through problems and still have peace but this is supernatural peace. Paul writes in Philippians 4:6-7 TPT – Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout the day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overwhelming gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. Other translations of Philippians 4:7 say – and the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Peace guards against attack of the enemy. The peace of God keeps worry from our hearts and unworthy thoughts like doubt and confusion from our minds.

We can bring our requests with gratitude before God and the Lord will direct us in the way to go as we will have peace surrounding the right way. Colossians 3:15 TPT – Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful, overflowing with gratitude for your life-union with Christ. When we have a decision to make we can let peace be our guide. The peace of the Lord will never lead us on a path that contradicts the Word of God so we should also test the decision we are considering by ensuring it doesn’t contradict scripture.

We can walk in perfect peace when we are focused on Jesus and not on our problems and circumstances. Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. The Lord calls us to be led by the Holy Spirit and to pursue spiritual realities and when we do we are promised that we will find peace. Romans 8:6 TPT – For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace. We need to cultivate our relationship with the Lord and take time to seek Him and know Him. When our confidence and faith is found in Him, we can know that the Lord is in control of all things and will work all things for our good. When we submit to the Lord and surrender our lives to Him, He fills us with His peace. Job 22:21 – Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you.

May the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation (2 Thessalonians 3:16). May you fix your eyes on Jesus and be led by peace.
