I WANT TO USE YOU TO FEED ALL PEOPLE

In worship this morning I had a vision of a multitude of people of God walking down a road. The road on the left hand side was lined with believers in Christ. The road on the right hand side was lined with non-believers. Each person walking down the road was carrying a basket and the basket was full of the most beautiful fruit. As the people were walking down the road they were looking to see who they could give their fruit to. I noticed the people walking were mostly turned to face the believers and were not giving much thought to the non-believers. Both groups seemed to be hungry and eager to receive but the non-believer group looked very malnourished and close to starvation. The occasional person would give a piece of fruit to a person in the non-believer group but mostly their basket was being emptied to those in the believer group. As their baskets were being emptied they were immediately refilled. I then saw Jesus standing in the middle of the street and He asked the group who were walking, “Who will give the fruit I have given to those on the right hand side as well? I want to use you to feed all people.” Those who answered “Yes” were being led to give fruit to the non-believers too. Some of the group were a little worried to approach the non-believer group and I sensed they felt they weren’t qualified to share with this group. Jesus stood beside them and a boldness came upon them as Jesus showed them He was with them. As they gave their fruit over to someone, Jesus’s hand was in theirs and He touched and fed the person too. I noticed Jesus was using the hands of the people of God to touch and feed people on both sides of the road. Both the person receiving the fruit and the one giving the fruit were overcome by the love and joy of the Lord as the fruit was distributed.

I believe the Lord is highlighting that the fruit and gifts of the Spirit we have are to be used to feed (encourage, deliver, heal, comfort, love etc) all people. 1 Peter 4:10 – ‘As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.’ Those who believe in God require a specific touch and encounter with the Lord to meet them at their need at times and are blessed through the ministry of others. Those who have yet to know the living God require a specific touch and encounter with the Lord to know the love, freedom and salvation only He can give. We are the hands and feet of Jesus as He uses us to minister to others. 2 Corinthians 5:20 – ‘We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us…’ Jesus desires to touch all people in their need. We need to be open to be led by the Spirit wherever He leads and to minister to whoever He leads us to. We don’t need to believe the lie of the enemy that we are discounted, not qualified or have nothing to offer etc. We can all be used by the Lord if we are willing. We just need to lean on our Beloved. 2 Corinthians 12:9 ‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’

May we embrace the privilege it is be used by Jesus and go where the Spirit leads. We will be overcome with the joy and love of the Lord as we share what we have been given with others.
