TAKE A STEP AND LEAP A MILE
When I sat with the Lord I felt Him say, “Take a step and leap a mile.” I then had a vision of the people of God sitting on the edge of a riverbank, which I felt was a place of decision. Jesus came and sat with each of them. As He held their hand there was such love and strength that was felt by the person. Peace, love and strength overwhelmed each person as their hand was wrapped in the hand of the Lord. As each person stood up the Lord said, “Trust me, take a step” and He ushered them in the direction they were to step. I noticed that as the person trusted the Lord and took a step, they actually leapt forward a mile, well in advance of where they thought they were going to land. As I watched them take a step I also noticed that Jesus was still holding their hand and never left their side as they took the step.
The Lord is asking His people to trust in Him as He will never leave our side and He is directing our steps. (Proverbs 3:5-6 -Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths). The Lord is asking His people to take the steps He is asking you to take. Rest on the Lord as your good shepherd; one who knows how to lead you. (John 10:14 – I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me. John 10:27 – My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me). Allow the Lord to fill you with His love, joy and peace. Step out in faith and boldness as He leads.
The Lord is asking you to come into deeper intimacy with Him as from a point of deeper intimacy, greater trust in Him is built and you can more clearly discern His leading. You are then able to take bigger steps of faith as He leads as you have a complete knowing that He is directing your steps and His ways are higher than yours. When you are being led by the Spirit you are filled with peace and assurance. (Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you). You are able to step out whenever and wherever He leads with boldness and confidence.
As you trust in the Lord and take the steps He is leading you into, you will find you leap a mile! As you take the first step, the Lord will bring things into alignment, bring you all you need to accomplish what He has placed before you and you will see acceleration into all the Lord has planned for you.
