On Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish New Year, I had a vision of standing in an open doorway. I could smell new fragrances and could hear new sounds released from heaven. Such beautiful fragrances enveloped me. I could feel rushing wind sweep past me as well as the warmth on my face from the sun as I stood in the doorway. I felt refreshed and energized. Before me was a golden staircase that glistened and seemed to go up and up, further than the eye could see. There were flowers of all colours suddenly bursting forth in front of me. I felt such a peace standing in the doorway as well as a sense of the significance of the time we are in. The Lord showed me that I was standing in the doorway or the entrance to the coming Jewish year 5777. The coming year was opened before me and a new season in the Spirit lay ahead.

 

The numbers seven and five make up the year 5777. Biblically, seven is the number of divine perfection, rest and spiritual completion. Five is the number of grace, abundance and favour. The Lord showed me that in the coming year we will be aware of a new fragrance and sound from heaven meaning this year will see the Lord release something new and we will experience His presence in a new way. Song of Songs 1:3 TPT – Your presence releases a fragrance so pleasing – over and over poured out. For your lovely name is Flowing Oil. Isaiah 43:19 – I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Angels are ready to be released on assignment from the Lord to see His plans and purposes come to pass in the significant year ahead.

 

We will see the Lord’s hand and favour over our lives and across the earth in a new way. We will speak of the goodness and grace of God and His beauty and majesty. Psalm 5:12 TPT – Lord how wonderfully you bless the righteous. Your favour wraps around each one and covers them under your canopy of kindness and joy. Psalm 31:19 TPT – Lord, how wonderful you are, you have stored up so many good things for us, like a treasure chest heaped up and spilling over with blessings – all for those who honour and worship you! Psalm 119:68 TPT – Everything you do is beautiful, flowing from your goodness.

 

The Lord showed me that the rushing wind was the move and power of the Holy Spirit and the warmth on my face from the sun represented the love and presence of the Lord. The people of God will see the Holy Spirit move like a rushing wind powerfully through them. They will be refreshed by the Holy Spirit working in and through them and will be touched by the love and presence of the Lord as they fix their eyes on Him. They will shine with the glory of the Lord as they are carriers of His glory and they will influence many. Isaiah 60:1 – Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

 

I believe the golden staircase speaks of the people of God growing in the things of the Spirit and moving from glory to glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 TPT – We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. This New Year brings with it an ascension into new positions, assignments and spiritual authority and influence. We need to be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit and keep our focus on things above.

 

The multicoloured, rainbow flowers bursting forth I saw in the vision shows us that we will see the glory of God and the promises He has given us come to life quickly and surprisingly. Beauty and life will spring forth around us as the Lord breathes life onto His plans and promises. 2 Corinthians 2:20 TPT – for all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory! Hebrews 6:18 TPT – It is impossible for God to lie for we know that his promise and vow will never change! And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time – an unshakable hope!

 

As we are on the doorway of the year ahead we can be encouraged by all the Lord has prepared for us. To enter in to all He has planned we need to ‘cross over’ the doorway. In the crossing over there is a need to leave behind those things that would hinder us from moving forward into the fullness of all the Lord has for us. We are entering a new season in the Spirit. This is a significant year and one where we will see the grace and favour of God as we trust and rest in Him and step in to all He has planned.
