Receive the gift of peace from the Prince of Peace

For the last few weeks the Lord has been highlighting the word ‘peace’ to me. During this busy time of year and this time of transition, motion and alignment for many in the body of Christ, the Lord is wanting us to be purposeful about drawing near to Him and embracing the gift of peace that only comes from Him. The enemy will try to rob you of your peace but hold fast to the One who gives perfect peace.

John 14:27 (TPT) – I leave the gift of peace with you – my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts – instead be courageous!

Focus on the Prince of Peace and walk in peace

I heard the Lord say, “Now more than ever My people need to embrace My gift of peace, the peace that surpasses understanding. As they encounter Me, they are filled with My peace. The key is to focus on the One who brings peace, the Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6 (ESV) – For unto us a child is born, to us a son to given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Lord then said, “Don’t look to your circumstances but look only to Me. The closer you walk with Me the more My peace will abound in your life.”

We all have times where we walk through difficult situations but we can have peace in the midst of the storm, regardless of our circumstances, as our peace is found in Him. The more we draw near to Him, get to know who He is, put our trust in Him and surrender to Him and His leading, the more peace we will experience in our lives. We need to safeguard our time with Him and stand against distractions and doubts that would attempt to steal our peace.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV) – Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way.

Rest and trust in Him

I heard the Lord say, “Be still and know that I am God. I change the seasons and I order your steps. Hold fast to all I have spoken to you and be at rest, knowing I am faithful to fulfil My promises. Don’t be moved by what you see but know that I am working all things for your good. Rejoice and give thanks in advance for all that is coming. Look with faith filled eyes on the path ahead.”

The Lord is inviting you to put your trust in Him and hold fast to the promises He has given you. Rest in knowing He is in control and is working all things for your good. As we are yielded to the Lord, He makes the path straight before us. Trusting God means we give up worrying and reasoning and we enter into His rest with simple childlike faith for we live by grace through faith. In that place of trust, we are filled with His peace.

John 16:33 (TPT) – “And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

Isaiah 26:3 (ESV) – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Colossians 3:15 (ESV) – And let the peace of Christ rule your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Many are in a time of great transition and shifting as the Lord is moving and aligning the path before His people as they enter a time of great acceleration into the plans the Lord has for them. Sometimes this time of change and motion can be messy and it can be difficult to see how the Lord is aligning the path before you and it can be difficult to see how the details of the plan will fall into place but the Lord is encouraging you to trust in Him, knowing He is ordering your steps as you follow the leading of His Spirit. As you spend time in His presence, He will confirm the steps you are to take and you will have peace on the way forward.

Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV) – Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Receive the gift of peace from the Prince of Peace. As you look to Him you will walk in peace.
