Recently I had a conversation with a friend about ‘continuing’ and in the weeks following that conversation the Lord has repeatedly spoken to me about this word. The definition of the word continue is ‘to maintain without interruption’ and this is what every aspect of our walk with the Lord is to look like. It is in continuing that we overcome and it is in continuing that we walk in the fullness of all the Lord has for us.

 

This is what I heard the Lord say as He spoke to me about continuing –

 

THE CALL TO CONTINUE –

 

“I am calling My people to CONTINUE. To continue to stand in faith, to continue to stand on the promises I have given, to continue in steadfast hope knowing I am faithful. I am calling them to continue to seek Me and to continue to pursue Me and the path I have prepared for them. To continue to look only to Me and to fix their eyes on things above. To continue to allow My word to be a light to their path. To continue to meditate on My word and to pursue the deeper things in Me. I am calling My people to continue in their stand for righteousness; to continue to be a voice of truth. To continue to walk in love and to continue to be the salt and light in the earth. I am calling them to continue to take bold, faith filled steps. To continue to decree and declare My word. I am calling them to continue to be a vessel through which I can impact others. To continue to steward the assignments I have given them to see My kingdom advance. I am calling them to continue to lay down their own agenda and instead steward what I have entrusted to them and walk with a kingdom mindset. I am calling them to continue to walk in humility. To continue to search their hearts and allow My Spirit to reveal that which is hidden. To repent of areas where their heart and ways don’t align with Mine and allow Me to do a transformational work in them. I am calling My people to continue to surrender to Me and allow Me to refine and change them.”

 

“The walk with Me is a continual one, not a momentary meeting but a walk of intimate fellowship with Me. Many look for the encounter with Me but I’m looking for those who desire continual fellowship.”

 

“The call to continue is not a new message but this year it will be important for My people to hear and heed this call and to not underestimate the importance of continuing.”

 

1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV) – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

 

Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV) – Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

 

Hebrews 10:23 (ESV) – Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

 

Psalm 105:4 (ESV) – Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!

 

REWARD FOR CONTINUING –

 

“Those who gain the prize are those who continue. Those who grow in faith and maturity are those who continue to grow in their understanding of Me, My ways and My word. They are the ones who continue to take steps of faith and obedience on the leading of My Spirit. They are the ones that embrace My direction, correction and refining. Those who take up the call to continue walk in abundant fruit and great is their spiritual reward. It is not always the easy path but it is the path of purpose, fulfillment and advancement.”

 

James 1:12 (ESV) – Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

 

Luke 11:28 (ESV) – But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

 

OVERCOMERS ARE THOSE WHO CONTINUE –

 

“Those who continue are those who overcome. This is the era of the overcomers, the time when My overcomers will rise up and prepare the way. They understand the call to continue and they have taken up the call for their everyday walk with Me is one of continuing. The way they live their life is one of continual worship to Me for their whole life is an act of worship. The journey they have walked is testimony to others of My goodness and faithfulness. They carry the message of the importance of continuing and the show others the way.”

 

1 John 5:4-5 (ESV) – For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.

 

Revelation 2:26 (ESV) – The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations

 

“A new hour is dawning for My overcomers, those who walk the journey of continuing. The continued steps they have taken in the years past have not gone unnoticed by Me. I will make a way where there appears to be no way for them. Much will be released into their hands for great is their partnership with Me. I will expand their territory and I will cause the message they carry to be heard by many. This is the hour of the rise of My overcomers.”
